Detective Conan

Hailing from the same world as Ran, Conan is essentially the little brother that the karateka never had. Before they were kidnapped to the city, Conan had been living with Ran and her father for nearly a year, and she feels like she can talk to the intelligent young boy about nearly anything. His penchant for getting into trouble has frustrated her on more than one occasion, though she has to admit that he's unusually capable for a seven year old. That won't stop her from trying to keep him out of said trouble, of course, however futile the effort might be.

Though she's had her suspicions in the past, Ran is currently convinced that Conan is Conan and nothing more. Theorizing that he might be her best friend shrunk into a seven year old through mysterious means would just be silly.

Being a good friend of Shinichi's and a detective like he is, Hattori's always been easy to get along with as far as Ran's concerned. She admires his deductive abilities and is also close friends with Kazuha, Hattori's best friend since childhood. (Not to mention she thinks the two of them make an adorable pair.) She's glad that Hattori and Conan get along so well, and trusts the Osakan to protect Conan if the two of them get into trouble.

They have a lot in common, and ~~after a week of being head over heels for each other thanks to their captors~~ Ran considers her one of her closest friends in the city. Hope is adorable. Ran still isn't sure whether he's the same age as her, but regardless of whether he is or not, she almost starting to feel like he's another little brother. His quiet thoughtfulness is a nice, calming counterpart to the chaos that often goes on in the city — especially during the time her body was switched with Tifa's.

She finds him inherently trustworthy and thinks he's a very kind and reliable person, if somewhat clueless about the modern world (and dealing with people in general). She's curious as to how much he resembles the Musashi she learned about in history class, and would be more than honoured to have him teach her some martial arts techniques.
